RESEARCHING IN EDUCATION

1. Platform of choice:

The platform we found is called purposegames: https://www.purposegames.com/

This platform allows to create various educational games such as: text quizzes, image quizzes, or matching games. It also has the option to create groups in where you could invite your students and in this way have a private room with your classroom to share the games you have created!

We found this platform by typing in google chrome "platforms to create educational games" and then in the first webpage that came up we found it.


2. The game:

We decided to create a game with the image quiz. You have a oicture with 9 different instruments and each of them have a blue dot, you then hace to match the word that appears at the top with the correct instrument. We believed that this was an interactive way for the students to learn the names of the instruments.

GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT TWITTER

Twitter is one of the most popular social microblogging networks that exists now a days. The main attraction of Twitter are the so called shot messages that are restricted to 240 characters. Twitter was created by Jack Dorsey and his team in 2006 and the idea was inspired in the sending of short fragments of text to communicate with one another, in these posts you can also add pictures, links to posts or articles, videos, surveys or polls and even gifs.


MAIN REASONS WE CHOSE TWITTER

We have chosen Twitter because in our group we all know how to use it. We found this social network the most practical one to interact with people all over the world and from all ages (but mostly young people). It is easy to find information through hashtags, you can make polls to know your follower’s opinions and much more. We think that it is an advantage that you can only write short posts, (240 characters) It is easier for people to read less information rather than long posts.


PERSONAL OPINION ABOUT THE USE OF VIRTUAL COMMUNITIES

In my opinion the use of virtual learning communities is a good place to learn new things and have the different opions from people around the world in a very fast way. I believe is a really good concept that i would like to start to use more.
